Mr Shaomao Bao 包少茂 is one of the most famours landscape painting artist in his mid age.

The literati painting 文人画

The literati painting  文人画 refers to type of Chinese painting. It representing artists' molarity, talent, knowledge and thought (人品、才情、学问、思想).


Mr Yonghou Huang 黄勇厚 is one of the typical artists of the literati painting.  His artworks always tell you some story.  He born in 1930 in Hunan Xiangxi 湖南湘西, used to study in the Military Academy at Huangpu 黄埔军校.  His elder brother Yongyu Huang 黄永玉 is one of the most famours Chinese painting artists too.

Calligraphy in Xiamen Zhongshan Park



To Chinese, Calligraphy can be found everywhere you live, you go.

Mr Jianwei He runs Painting Gallery in the past.  When my grandpa, Mr Renxi Zhang, was still alive, he went to Mr He's gallery almost everyday.  Apart from chats, my grandpa would paint on site.  He also gave advise to Mr He how to perform calligraphy even better.

Mr He's calligraphy artworks now could be found in many place of Xiamen, Fujian.  From Buddhist temples to parks.  From which, few photos pasted here are those I took from Zhongshan Part of Xiamen in October of this year.

About Chinese painting and calligraphy

诗poetry, 书calligraphy, 画painting, 印seal carving are the four main unique skills of Chinese traditional artists.  From which, calligraphy is the fundamental element of all.  Poetry becomes artwork by calligraphy, good painting and seal carviing rely on good calligraphy.  No good calligraphy, hard to be an artist.
